Went back to Gutterbrushes again

We had Gutterbrushes for years, but eventually they broke into smaller pieces, probably partly from banging them too hard on the side of the ladder. (a big sycamore over the house sheds a lot of stuff) Tried a metal gutter cover, but it didn’t work as well and the winter ice pushed them off so we’ve gone back to Gutterbrushes.

Ladder-Max is a winner!

The 19” standoff of Ladder-Max allowed me to SAFELY remove, refurbish, and re-pitch the 6” half-round gutters on my home. The gutters rest on brackets and are held in place with wire clips. Ladder-Max’s maximized clearance allows me to lift the gutters off the brackets and bring them down safely on the inside of the ladder’s pitch. Love it!

Does the Job

We have had good luck with ours, and we just added to them to the patio cover gutter, we did not realize that the patio gutter had filled up with debris and mud and had started a weed garden in the gutter, so we will be adding them up there, hoping this will help, but regarding the ones we have had in the house gutters, we can go about 2 years with out cleaning, yes some debris will collect but not like before without any protection, we find them helpful and easier to maintain

I’ve installed various gutter guards over the years, wire mesh, aluminum and plastic. Without a doubt these are the easiest install possible. I have high confidence that they will stay in place, not be bothered by birds or limbs. I also believe they will be easy to clean should leaves impale themselves.

I bought the 5 inch gutter brushes and they was very easy to install. After unsuccessfully trying wire cutters, I found that the pieces of brush could be cut by bending the wire back and forth a few times. The brush lengths fit well and I look forward to see how they work in rain and snow.

The 6 inch common k style gutter is less common than the 5 inch k-gutter, also often referred to as a 6 inch seamless gutter, gets perfectly fit with our 5.25" actual diameter Gutterbrush for 6 inch gutters. This is a designed fit. The 5.25" diameter brush fills the gutter as best as possible and also provides a raised bristle profile higher than the edges of the gutter so that debris that drops on the brsush can be cleaned off by the wind.

How many sizes of GutterBrush are there?

This page features the 5.25 inch actual diameter brush for 6 inch gutters, and there are also 5 additional sizes. In total there are 6 diameter sizes ranging from 2.25" actual diameter to a full 8 inch diameter.

How long has GutterBrush been on the market?

Why is GutterBrush designed in this fashion?

Because the most important job for a gutter guard, is to assure that the rain water enters the gutter. Screens, covers and mesh angle toward the outer edge of the gutter so even clean, and when they get dirty, they become a water ramp or a chute that actually sends the water past the gutter. This doesn't happen with GutterBrush. GutterBrush accepts rain water better than any other gutter guard.

How long will GutterBrush last out in my Gutter?

GutterBrush consists of high quality weather resistant materials. The bristles are flexible but also rigid and thick for longevity; with UV protection for great resistance to the harmful effects of the sun. We put a 10 year material warranty on the product but it lasts far longer than that.

How does GutterBrush prevent gutter clogging.

Gutters clog in one of 2 ways. 1) Gutter debris floats and gets hung up creating a gutter dam, or 2) Gutter debris flows and creates a larger clump that can not fit out so it plugs the downspout opening. Individual pieces of debris can not clog the gutter, it must clump together to make a larger obstruction. With Gutterbrush protecting the gutter, the debris can not clump, flow or even move at all. The gutter can not clog if the debris can not move so water flows between and out the downspouts.

Will GutterBrush keep debris out of my downspouts and more importantly my drainage pipes that are buried in the ground?

Yes.

What other factors help GutterBrush performance?

Any debris that is lodged in the bristles is both exposed to the sun and also suspended so there is abundant airflow surrounding the debris which is different than laying in a pile on the bottom of the gutter. Suspended debris with airflow, really cooks in the sun like it was put in the oven, and quickly degrades and decays with small particulate matter flowing through the gutter system and out.

If necessary, can GutterBrush be renewed to start over?

Do all gutter guards require maintenance?

Yes, those who work outside agree that there is no gutter guard that will let you never maintain your gutters again, that is a false promise. All gutter guards out where there are leaves and debris falling from trees, will require maintenance at some point or else it will stop flowing.

How long will it be before my gutters need maintenance.

Every home is different because the characteristics of every home and every gutter are different. Factors are the height of the gutter, the slope of the roof, local wind patterns, the height of the trees, location of trees, etc. Every home is different.
